Day 10-11

It finally happened!   Yesterday Chad had another day of eating slight amounts throughout the day  and keeping it down,  so today he was released from the hospital.   He does tire easily, but we have made the transition from a hospital room to a hotel room.  Tomorrow we will leave the snow covered ground in Minnesota and head south.   Chad is eager to get back to his own possessions and his own space.  It was a challenging time, but thanks to all of the thoughts and prayers, we are finally headed home.

Yeah!!!! So anxious and happy for you all. It sounds like the surgery was a success but Chad's body was not sure how to heal up. Hope this means he's on his way to a real total recovery. Safe flight today. Will be in touch over the weekend. Love to all. Cathy

Happy New Year!

I would like to know how are you doing now?

Chad is improving every day. His eating has increased to the point that he is consuming many more calories than he did before the second surgery. He has six to seven bowl movements a day with imodium and metamucil supplements.

i stumbled across your blog, my husband (32 years old) is going to Mayo on Sunday for UC. I've been researching possible outcomes and treatments. He also has not responded well to medications and getting skin cancer was enough scare for him to go off Remicade. Your story is very encouraging, thank you for posting for nervous and concerned family members and patients like us.

God bless you as you continue to heal.
