This morning Chad's fever was gone. We suspect that Chad has had a flu bug since Sunday that started with a sore throat. He is up and moving this morning and looking and acting more like his old self. Chad had more blood tests done this morning, but as far as we know they have not diagnosed this five day illness.
Hooray! Chad was discharged out of the Mayo Clinic Hospital at 5:30 p.m. this afternoon. We are flying back to San Antonio tomorrow afternoon. We all are looking forward to getting back to South Texas.

Just wanted you to know that you guys are all in our thoughts and prayers. Hurry home!
Linda Stanchos
What a roller coaster. There is a fever flu bug going around here too. Can't believe he can get through surgery and then get a flu bug!!!
Glad he has been sprung and that you will be on your way home today. There is something about being in your own bed that really completes the healing process.
Still sending good vibes and thinking positive thoughts. much love, cathy
Hey! Hope this arrives in time to say welcome back home. You all continue to be in our daily prayers. As Dorothy said, "There's no place like HOME"...although I bet Chad feels like he's been to medical OZ and back. So have a safe trip home and we'll talk to you soon! Love, Jaimee, Chuck and Neely
We are so glad to hear that Chad and all of you will be home soon. We pray that God will continue to lead Chad down the road of recovery.
we'll talk to you soon.
Love and prayers,
Barb, Dave, Alex, & Erick
Chad I had the same surgery in February at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Fl. My surgeon was from the Minnesota facility filling in for another surgeon. I've had the take-down surgeon since in May and doing just find with dealing with minor irritation issues every once in awhile. I'm much happier now than I was with the Ulcerative Colitis issues and problems. Congrats and enjoy living again!
I have been following your blog for a while now. Just wondering how things are going. Hope all is well. Kenny
