Week 4
Chad is now off his pain medication. I think this is a minor miracle considering he has been on these medications for over two years with only little if any withdrawal symptoms. Today is Chad's 4 week anniversary for his surgery. We made an appointment at Mayo Clinic to have his take down surgery on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

My husband and I have been following Chads story, and we are glad he is on the road to recovery. My husband has suffered with Uc for 13 years with 11 years all together in total remission. This flare up has gotten the best of him, and we have been faced with remicade or surgery...the remicade failed, so we are looing into the next step. Chads story and others have helped. Thanks for the updates, and thanks for sharing his story!
Chad's quality of life with UC was not good and his decision to go ahead with surgery was best for him. Thank you for sharing your concerns. My family appreciates all comments.
